No food goes to waste

VBDS are thrilled with this well-written article by Danny Patten, featured in Biggleswade Today Online and FreshPlaza.com, highlighting the Veg Box Donation Scheme and our very successful partnership with Tesco through their Community Food Connection scheme and FareShare. Food donations are vital to our operation; in fact, last week we received food donations from Tesco and other supermarkets and suppliers worth around £300, enough to provide 25 households with generous veg and fruit boxes. We are in a rural community, not a city, so numbers are lower, but the need in the countryside is as valid as that in more built-up areas and we value the help from those who donate to us, and the opportunity to help reduce food waste.
