Thank you!
I love surprises, particularly those of the fruit and veg kind. Today's surprise was a contact from someone in Potton who had pears from her mother's allotment and wanted to donate them to the Veg Box Donation Scheme. Wonderful!
It's so exciting to see the generous contributions that come in: the produce from allotment growers; a gentleman who drops off a box of home grown veg each week; someone else who buys two veg boxes from a local company and donates one to VBDS; the veg from the Potton Food Garden picked and dropped off by David early every Saturday morning; lovely apples from the Potton Apple Day - thanks, Sal; Kiran from Wimpole Hall with two generous and completely unexpected donations from their gardens; and the many others who contribute without us knowing who you are.
Thank you also to Potton Lower School, St Andrews West Lower School, Tesco Sandy via Fareshare (such lovely, friendly staff!), Seasons Fruit & Veg and MyFresh for the weekly donations. We could not continue without your help and we are honestly overwhelmed by your generosity - and it's great to be able to help alleviate food waste as well.
Forgive me if I have left anyone out - we are grateful nonetheless!
Please contact us if you would like to help. We'd love to hear from you. More info on our website: www.vbds.org.uk
