Welcome-heading

Welcome to the Veg Box Donation Scheme (VBDS), a Christian non-profit organisation.

There is an ancient, biblical and lost custom of not reaping the corners of a field, and not going over the field again after the first harvest, to allow the poor and the foreigners to collect what was left behind – a practice called gleaning.

Perhaps not practical today, but we do the next best thing – our vision is to share our excess produce, as a community, with those in need in our local area.

We collect donations of fresh, healthy veg and fruit, supplemented by purchased produce from grant funding/donations, and distribute it as free of charge veg boxes to local residents referred to us as in food poverty.
